Why do credit scores change?

It's completely normal for your credit scores to fluctuate. Your credit scores are calculated based on information in your credit reports. Factors used to calculate credit scores may include how much you owe on your credit accounts, how many new accounts you have, whether you have made late payments or missed payments, inquiries made for your credit reports, and what types of credit accounts you have. Changes in any of the factors used to calculate a credit score may cause the credit score to change.

In addition, there are many different credit scores and credit scoring models (ways of calculating credit scores), so your credit scores may differ.
