Business Principal Reports Do you want to learn more about a potential new business contact? When an enterprise is a small proprietorship or brand new business, a commercial credit report may not reveal everything you need to know to make an informed decision about pursuing a business relationship with them. To learn more about their business you may wish to order consumer credit reports on the owners, presidents or partners in the business. *Equifax has a comprehensive database of more than 22 million Canadian consumer credit reports to query to learn more about a business you may be dealing with. (*A company must have a legitimate business reason and permissable purpose, as stated in government regulations, to obtain a consumer credit report). To obtain a Business Principal Report you will need the permission of the individual consumer. Obtaining permission can be achieved by adding wording to your existing credit application indicating that a consumer credit report may be required to conduct a more thorough assessment of the business.
